Labor Day weekend

September 8, 2010

This past weekend we went to Minnesota to visit Joe’s parents, and during those 3.5 days, we got more exercise than we had bargained on!

Unfortunately, I was being really lazy and didn’t pull out my camera until we were leaving, so all I have are some flowery photos (and it was hard, because the wind was blowing…) and a couple shots of us with Paul Bunyan on the way home.. 😀

When we stopped to take the photos with him, I got out of the car with bare feet (he was right beside the sidewalk), and stepped on a nasty ol’ piece of chewed gum.  Blech.

Anyway, it was a really fun trip!  We played some volleyball, and won!  It was to our surprise!  Joe and his brother Pete, (who you can find over at The Writing Trialogue) have played against the same guys that we played against, and lost… Our competitors were twin brothers Jesse and Jerry, so it is fair to say that they have communicated plenty and played together quite a bit in their lives.

We also played mini golf, went on an 11.6 mile bike ride, whacked some whiffle balls around (I am partial to a chubby bat… 😀 ) and went out on Rice Lake and fished for about an hour..

Other than getting quite the sniffles from the two kitties, it was a great weekend and Visiting with Joe’s parents was a nice break from our ND everyday life..

What did you do over Labor Day weekend?  Was it lazy or full of activities?
